⛱️Pour une plage plus calme, privilégiez la plage Richelieu à l’est du port, souvent plus spacieuse et familiale. La plage de la conque bordée de falaise possède un charme unique.
A Major Seaside Resort of Languedoc
Cap d’Agde is a seaside resort located on the Mediterranean coast in the Hérault department. It is part of the municipality of Agde and was developed in the 1960s and 1970s as part of a large coastal tourism development project in the Languedoc region.
The goal of this project was to create modern resorts capable of welcoming vacationers while preserving the large natural spaces of the coastline. Today, Cap d’Agde is one of the most important tourist destinations in southern France.
The resort combines beaches, a marina, water sports, and promenades, making it a lively place during the summer season.
Long Sandy Beaches
One of Cap d’Agde’s greatest attractions is the quality of its beaches. Unlike some rocky areas of the Mediterranean coast, this part of the shoreline offers wide sandy beaches stretching for several kilometers.
Among the most popular beaches are Richelieu Beach, Môle Beach, and Rochelongue Beach. These beaches are generally well equipped with restaurants, sunbed rentals, and water sports facilities.
Some areas are quieter and family-friendly, while others are more lively with beach bars and water activities.
A Large Marina
The Cap d’Agde marina is one of the largest pleasure harbors on the French Mediterranean coast. With its many quays, restaurants, and shops, it forms one of the most vibrant areas of the resort.
In the evening, the harbor becomes a very pleasant place for a stroll. Visitors can watch the boats, enjoy dinner on a terrace, or simply soak up the summer atmosphere.
The marina is also the starting point for many sea excursions, including boat trips, diving outings, and coastal tours.
Activities and Leisure
Cap d’Agde offers a wide variety of activities for all ages.
Visitors can enjoy many water sports, including sailing, jet skiing, paddleboarding, kayaking, and scuba diving.
The resort also features an aquarium, an international golf course, cycling paths, and several leisure parks. During summer, many markets, events, and entertainment activities take place throughout the resort.
Thanks to this diversity, Cap d’Agde attracts families, couples, and groups of friends alike.
